new project

When Brian and I went to the fair I bought a coffee cozee. The more I looked at it the more I thought to myself I could make them. I went trying to find a pattern but I could not find one. I didn't want to tear apart the one that I bought, but then I did. The green polka dot one was the first one that I made and the two other followed. I keep making them until I figured out what I was doing wrong. By the time I got done with the purple bat I finally figured out what I had been doing wrong so I had to make another one to see if I had figured it out. I decided to make two at once and I did make the proper changes. The next step was the hand sewing them up. By the time I was to my finally two purple bats I had it all figured out. Now its time to go back to the fabric store and buy more. I think I want to get some more Halloween themes and maybe Thanksgiving and Christmas. The fabric that I really want to find is anything in a Knitting theme. Off on a mission to find some.

While Brian and I where out shopping at Target we went past the pet line and on the end cap they had Halloween costumes for pets. I saw one and thought of Mavrick. Brian said that I would never get in on him and he would hate me and he would run away from me when ever I got close. Well when we got home I got Mavrick and put it on him and Brian was some what right. Mavrick did not like it but he is not running from me. Snowball on the other hand does not mind having the chicken hat on. Here is a couple pictures of the two of them. Mavrick sure does hat that hat. But at least he let me have my fun and put it on him and take his picture.
And for the knitting I still going on the second sock. I finally got it cast on the way I like it and I have not made a mistake that I couldn't fix by ripping it.
Until next time stay safe and happy knitting!

Flag Pole

With 9-11 over, we raised the flag to full staff. We add the Navy flag to honor our family members that are either active or retired from the Navy.
Yesterday we sent time putting in new wiring and lights so we can show off the flag at night. One thing we noticed last night is when the wind picks up and the flags start flying, the flood light over the garage comes on and stays on until the wind dies down. So now we are having to play with sensors so we don't get our neighbors mad at us.

We went for a walk this morning and noticed how many flag poles that there are around here, but I think we have the only one that has lights on it.
On the knitting side lets just say rip it, rip it, rip it. Now I'm starting over for the 3rd time.

long time coming

I can't believe that it has been almost a month since I've blogged. Not much has been really going on around here. Last week Brian and I went to the fair. We should never have days off together we end up spending toooo much money. While we were there Brian bought a flag pole and I got a new knitting bag. He was been wanting one for a long time and he keeps looking at them every time we go to the fair so he finally went ahead and bought it. So yesterday Brian poured the concert and set the pole all in time so we could put the flag up 0600 on 9-11.

On the Knitting side. I finally gave the Seahawks sock's of Kindness away yesterday. They were a birthday gift for a co-worker and she loved them. I've heard from flight attendants that she was showing them off and that I might be getting for more pairs. I forgot to get a picture of Cherina and the socks. Maybe she will enjoy them while she watches football on Sunday. As for the pair I'm working on now I've got sock number 1 finally done. I've already cast on for sock number two and I'm working on the cuff. I've already in my mind thinking of what I'm going to do next.

Until next time stay safe and have as much fun as you can.
