Happy Anniversary

Well If you can believe this Brian and I have been married now for 12 years. It still seems like yesterday that we were get married. We went and bought part of our present today it was a 37" flat screen TV that was mainly Brian's part. We are still waiting on getting what I want. A Wii. I had fun playing with Deb's when I was going back in Iowa now I want one of my own.

A lot has happen since my last blog. First I went on vacation at the end of May to my sister Deb's house in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I went and saw Kirstin Jo's play at school, watched her play softball and do gymnastics. We had a blast everyone doing great. I just spoke with Deb the other day and she and the girls are doing fine and they have not floated away.

On the knitting side I've been bad in two different ways. First I have not picked up any knitting needles since I've been home. The second way I've been shopping. I ordered from the Loopy Ewe yarn and roving, ordered a sock book and a spinning book from Amazon, and when I hadn't gotten my order from Loopy Ewe Brian let me stop by the yarn store and I bought more roving to try and start spinning. The funny part was my package came the same day. The best part was yesterday I received my second package from woolgirl sock club. Jennifer did a wonderful job on the this one. It has inspired me to start knitting again.

Wonderful Husband

When I got home yesterday Brian said lets go I want to take you some place, I found you something. I was questioned him what did you find for me. He was wondering if he should tell me or not. I finally got it out of him. It was a spinning wheel. He found it off Craig's list and it also came with Alpaca roving. I just ordered me some books so I can learn how to spin. The only thing is that on Wednesday I will be heading off to Iowa to see my sister. So learning how to spin will have to wait unit June.

On the knitting side I finished sock #1 of the Nutkin sock and
started working on #2. I hope to finish it while I 'm gone. Now I have to find a pattern and yarn before leaving in a few days.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I had a very busy day. I started 0430 this morning getting up and getting ready for the day. I was at work by 0630 to be picked up and head to Seattle Center to be part of the Y-Me walk for Breast Cancer which started at 0900. I was captain for United Onboard Service division. We walked for 3 miles through downtown Seattle. One thing I was happy about it did not rain on us, we had the wind which made it cold but no rain. Here are some pictures from our walk today.

thanks for taking the time to look !!!!

Whidbey Island

On Thursday I got together with some friends and we headed to Whidbey Island. Kelly's family owns a home in walking distance of the water. A few of us met up at Kelly's house and started our ride to the Island. We finally made it on the ferry and then it was a short ride to her family's lake cabin. We walked down to the beach and looked for sea shells and I had to pick some of them up.

It was a great night of good friends, good food, and great wine. We did play a dice game called LRC, and you can play with chips or quarters so we played with quarters. There was 3 four sided dice on each side there was a L, R, C, and a Dot. So if you roll a L, R, and a dot, you pass 1 quarter to the left one to the right and you keep one quarter. If you rolled a C then one goes the middle the big pot. Who ever is the last one with any quarters wins and get the big pot. Guess who won both games....ME. Then they did not want to play any more and they sent me home the next day. I did some knitting down.

Sock Update

Ok here is an update on the sock knitting front. I finished the Horcrux socks right before we left for vacation. So I brought with me two different yarns and patterns. I tried the first one and it did not work so I tried on the second one and it worked. I doing the Monkey sock again , but with a twist. I'm doing it with out the "purl" I'm knitting every stitch. I just finished the first one today.

When I got home on Friday, I had a package waiting for me. The first Wool girl sock club package arrived. The yarn is great, it is one of my favorite yarn too. Mamma Llama. I am so glad that I spend the money and joined. Now I have to wait for two month for the next one and I don't think I can.

Vacation

Brian and I just got back from a weeks vacation. Boy did the time fly by, I can't believe that I have to go back to work tomorrow. On Sunday morning Brian and I loaded up the truck and trailer and headed down to Florence, Oregon to our favorite place "the DUNES". The morning was not the best but by the afternoon the sun was out and the weather was great. Here are some pictures of why we like it down there.

We also went to the World's Largest Sea Lion Caves. It was something I've wanted to do since we started going down there.
