Snow Snow go away

I'm very thank you that today is my day off and I have the next few days off. I feel really bad for any one that would have to go out and drive in this weather. I was very thankful that on Sunday things were not as bad as today. I had my favorite shift that day 0430 and was glad that the main road were good. I was able to get to work ontime and so did all the flight attendants YAH. When I got home this is what I came home to. Now today is totally different, like the rest of Western Washington it is still snowing here.
Now I have to wait until Saturday night to see what Sunday is like. I get to play supervisor on Sunday and Monday and I get to start at 0430 again. I hope the roads are better then than it is today.
I hope everyone is ready for Christmas. I'm not. I still have to get to the Post Office to get a package out in the mail. I don't think that I will make it today, I hope maybe tomorrow. I finally was able to get pictures to load so I have added a picture of the Christmas tree.
As for the knitting I'm having a problems. I've tried a pattern twice and I can't seem to get going on it. I have the perfect day to try and start knitting. Off to get a pattern and yarn to start a new project. So I will sign off for now everyone stay safe and warm.

try again

Last night I had a new post typed up and was going to add pictures to it and it would not let me add pictures. Then the next thing I know everything that I had typed was gone. I gave up and went on to another websit and played. So here we are at it again.

The first major thing is that I got a pair of sock knitted up and all done. On the road to Denmark are done. I finished them on Thursday as we were out and about. This pair is going to my mother-in-law for part of her Christmas present. I know I can post pictures due to the fact she doesn't know I have a blog. So now that I'm done with that pair I have to think of what to make next and for who.

On Thursday as Brian and I were running around, he was really nice and took me two different yarn stores. The first one we went to is the one I always go to is Renaissance Yarns in Kent. As Brian was parking I noticed that the shop was emptied out and a note on the door. All it said was that they had moved to Kent Station. I was happy to know that they didn't go out of business, but just moved. The second one we went and visited was Yorkshire Yarns in Lakewood. Another wonderful yarn store that carries the sock yarn that I love.
Before we left Thursday I put up our Christmas tree. Now I get to sit here in the dark and look at the tree and be all merry. Not much else has been happening around here. I've been in my room sew away making sock project bags. Maybe one of these day I will start a store on Etsy and sell them and pay for my bad habit of sock yarn and now fabric. Here are a couple that I got done yesterday. Ok you will have to wait until next time it won't let me add any more pictures. So until next time be happy and knit away.

blogging from work

I thought I would give this a try. I figured that I spend more time here on this computer at work than I do with the one at home. So I'm sitting here at work updating my blog when I should be doing some work. So here is what I've been doing lately. I've made a few hats and gloves and I'm tired of them for right now. I started working on a sock again. The pattern is from Nancy Bush Knitting on the Road book and it called Denmark. I'm using Miss Bags: "Yummy Hand-painted sport & sock yarn in Suede Rose. Lets just say its another United sock, I think I've knitted most of it right here in my chair.
Right behind my sock is one of my new sock project bags that I got made on my last day off. I've got a lot made and maybe one day I will start selling them on-line who knows.
Ok I have to do a flash back here. The song that is playing on my Ipod right now is Pink Cadillac from Bruce Springsteen. It takes me back to Macy's in New York City doing my music video to that song. I'm glad that song is over now its onto the Muppet Movie "I hope something better comes along".
I've got to go now, its 1900 and now I have work to do. Have to start get the paper work done for tomorrow morning so see who will be checking in. I hope you all have a wonderful Turkey day. I hope my turkey won't still be frozen on Thursday. Until next time keep smiling and stay stay safe.

New Hobbie

Lets start by saying that Brian and I went up to Sumas to visit my Mom and Dad. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner and I got a sewing lesson. Bev started making sock project bags and she had made me two. I was thinking and thinking in my head that I could make those, make those but did I want to start a new Hobie. Bev said they were easy to make and she sat down and put one together very quickly.

I ended up with the pattern and on the way home Brian and I stopped by and bought some fabric. When we got home I said see you later and off to my room I went. I ended up making two bags for myself and using all the fabric that I bought, so on Saturday off to buy more. I made three more bags and a matching coffee cozie for one that I made of Friday. Now its time to make Christmas gift for my sock knitting friends.

Not much else has been going on. I've been knitting more fingerless gloves and hats. The set I'm working on now is a pair that I will be getting paid for. Cool. That it is for now I can't think of anything else to write. Until next time stay safe, happy and dry. Happy knitting.

Spending Spree

Brian and I have been on a major spending spree. Brian spent money on a new 5th Wheel Trailer and myself what else YARN. A week ago on Friday Brian found a deal we could not pass up. Brian found the trailer that we wanted with the garage in the back so the toys have a room of their own and the rest of the trailer is all ours. Now Brian's elbow can get better so we can camping and riding.

All I bought was more yarn for socks and fingerless gloves. I finished two hats and one pair of fingerless gloves. I've bought more so I can thinking about Christmas gifts. One bad thing has been happening is that my joints in my hands have been hurting. I keep trying to knit through the pain and even typing right now my left hand hurts. I did get my October Woolgirl Sock Club Package and I've already signed up for next year.

I hope you like pictures of our new toy. Until next time happy knitting.

Knitting update

A lot has happen in my knitting world. First I talked about last post Beka's sock. They wear a big hit. I finished them right before I left to go back to Iowa. So I had to start on a new pair. So I looked through my books and found a pattern called the Gentleman's sock out of Knitting Vintage Socks. I used Socks that Rock in Lunasea and I just finished them today. I really like the pattern. It was easy, it did have a 10 row repeat. I just keep the pattern near by just in case I needed it.

I did do one project while I was working on the Gentleman's sock. I knitted myself another hat. I was at Apple Yarns using my birthday gift from my mother-in-law when I saw one of the owners wearing a hat. I asked what pattern did she use and it was out of Knit Simple magazine the eyelet hat. It was a very simple and I was able to knit it up in a 1 1/2 days. I wore it the next day at work and I had three more orders for hats. But first I had to finished my sock. Now that I have that done I'm off working on hats. I already started on the first one. I've got the rib done time to start the rest of the pattern.

I have an idea for Christmas gifts so I have to do some very fast knitting. I've already got the next sock pattern picked out and a pair of fingerless gloves on my list to knit. I think that is it for know off to do some serious knitting. Until next time stay safe and happy knitting.

Oh my its October

Can you believe that it is already October and its the 13 already. Where has the time gone. Well I did things different this year, instead of going to Iowa at the end of the month I went at the begin. I went to visit Deb and to celebrate my birthday with them instead of Halloween.
I took the all-nighter on Wednesday night and I got into Iowa on Thursday morning. We went out to Breakfast then off to Deb's house for a nap. I may have sleep for about 15-30 mins. We had major things to do. Deb and I had to decorate the Haunted Cheesy Game room. Deb cooked a ham and everyone came over for a ham dinner. Lets just say I didn't get any sleep until around 1 or 2 in the morning. Beka arrived around 10 pm I think and I was able to give her, her socks. She was so happy had to put them on right away. Actually she made Nicole put them on her feet.

After seeing Kirsten Jo with her new haircut I decided to cut my hair. Deb made an appointment with the person that cut Jo's hair and I got about 3" cut off. It feels great. I don't need so much shampoo or conditioner. Now Kristina says that we look more alike now.

Every one came over on my birthday to have a birthday drink. Here is a picture of Kirsten Jo with her Appletini aka appletini mix and diet Mt. Dew and myself with my glass of wine. After Nicole got off work, her and Beka came over so I got picture of the three of us.

Oh on the Knitting side of my life there is a lot to tell but I will save that for another posting. All about sock yarn new pair of socks and a new hat that only took 1 day to knit. Until then stay safe and happy knitting.
